"Classic 96" Points "Dark blackberry fruit intermixed with mineral, acacia flowers, and a hint of subtle smoke. On the palate there is sensational freshness and purity, with abundant sweet, velvety tannins. A full-bodied, unctuously textured, thick, juicy, gorgeous wine that will reward for decades. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!" - The Wine Insiders Robert Parker has rated the 2009 vintage in France's Northern Rhone his highest rating ever (98+!) for this celebrated region and Wine Spectator has proclaimed 2009 the best vintage in over two decades. That's why we're so thrilled to introduce you to the 2009 Dauvergne Ranvier Hermitage, a stunning selection from one of our favorite micro-producers (readers will remember their Gigondas as well which sold out in 2 hours). Rhone collectors ascribe near mythical status to the red wines of Hermitage, long considered the standard bearer for the Northern Rhone. However, the 133 hectare production is miniscule, making these sought after wines virtually un-attainableā¦until NOW! Please note: Parker has already awarded nine of the 2009 Hermitages "Perfect 100" ratings so jump aboard now! Just a few cases were imported so please confirm requests quickly to avoid disappointment. Did You Know? The town of Tain at the foot of Hermitage Hill is also the home of Valrhona Chocolate, one of the finest chocolate manufacturers in the world. Thomas Jefferson purchased hundreds of bottles after visiting Tain in 1787.
