CLASSIC 96 - 98 RATING:
The wine is unmistakably Hundred Acre but easily mistaken for a powerful Napa Cabernet but delighting with the uniquely succulent dark fruit exclusively available from the finest Aussie Shiraz! Powerful, elegant, complex, packed with concentrated black fruit including succulent plums and figs with layer upon layer of subtle spice, mocha and captivating nuances that linger on the palate for a full :60 finish. This wine bears more resemblance to it’s sister wine than it does to any other Shiraz made before. With the Kayli-Morgan Cab and the Ancient Way Shiraz side-by-side, the stylistic similarities are striking, one with nuances of Napa Cab, the other of Barossa Shiraz…this rare gem is a thriller now and should evolve into a 98+ point Classic with a couple of years of bottle age, peaking around 2015 in our estimate.
