Kesner Chardonnay Hudson 2006 - $65.00

INSIDER SCOOP:
Kesner Wines was formed in 2002. Jason Kesner, owner and winemaker, also manages the famed Hudson Vineyards, where he grows the fruit for some of the most highly esteemed wine programs in the country including cultish Chardonnays Kistler (R. Parker 96 points), Koongsgaard (R. Parker 98 points), Lewis, Ramey (R. Parker 95 points), and Patz & Hall. Only 300 cases of this vintage were produced making this new release one of our very favorite “boutique” level Chardonnay

TASTING NOTES:
The 2006 Hudson Vineyards is a stellar effort that highlights the rich yet equally reserved ripeness of Carneros fruit, all the while retaining the full range of complexity and subtleties reflective of a classic Hudson Vineyards Chardonnay. Sweet, gentle aromas of fresh apricots, wildflowers, clover honey, toasty oak and vanilla. This rich wine is full of bright apricot and fresh nectarine flavors which melt into a warm, buttery/creamy finish. Cinnamon and nutmeg tones balance the delicate oak character on the delicious finish. This is an elegant, age-worthy wine that will blossom into an even more graceful experience over the next 3 - 5 years. YUM!

RECOMMENDED FOOD PAIRINGS:
Salmon with a light herb butter sauce * Veal sauteed in a light lemon picatta sauce * Aged Camembert cheese with pears and walnuts
