TASTING NOTES: “BIG, rich, and true to the opulent ‘Rombauer’ style that has become the gold standard for many California Chardonnay collectors. Apple, peach, and tropical fruit flavors weave together in a nice range of flavors that linger on the palate ending with a long and sultry aftertaste. The oak tones from both barrel fermentation and aging are deftly melded into the finish of the wine. This wine is perfect for sipping now or anytime over the next 2 – 3 years, peaking in 2011 in our estimate."
WINEMAKER NOTES: “ Lloyd Chardonnay is an unabashed California Chard. The grapes come from two of my favorite Sangiacomo Vineyards, Home Ranch and Green Acres in the Carneros region. Picked at their peak of ripeness, the grapes are gently pressed, settled, and moved to barrels to be cold fermented. Aromatics of pineapple, vanilla, and tropical fruit jump out of the glass. A rich mouthfeel balanced with just enough acidity allow the wine to disappear quickly, leaving you waiting for the next taste… enjoy!
