INSIDER SCOOP: This new release has not been rated yet {by Parker} but we sampled it yesterday and it is an astounding experience reminiscent of recent 98 – 99 point offerings from Torbreck or Elderton. Order now because less than 200 cases were imported into the U.S. and once the big new rating is released our supply will be long gone.
Two recent “Roenfeldt Rd.” ratings for perspective…..
2005 Two Hands Shiraz Roennfeldt Road Zippy's Block
ROBERT PARKER "CLASSIC 99" RATING: The 2005 Shiraz “Roennfeldt Road – Zippy’s Block” is sourced from one of the premier addresses in the Barossa and this wine shows why. It has a profound perfume of smoky, toasty oak, pencil lead, violets, leather, licorice, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. This leads to a shockingly elegant yet large-scaled Shiraz with a velvety-texture, layer upon layer of spicy blue and black fruits, beautiful harmony, and a 60+ second finish. Words can hardly do it justice. While it can be enjoyed now, you can bury it in the cellar, revisit it in 20-25 years, and it will still be mind-bogglingly hedonistic.
Greenock Creek Shiraz Roennfeldt Road
ROBERT PARKER 'PERFECT 100' RATING: The two Roennfeldt Road cuvees, from one of Barossa’s most esteemed addresses, appear to be the finest since the legendary 1998s The 2002 Roennfeldt Road Shiraz was aged in new French oak. Aromas of pain grille, truffle, mineral, violets, blackberry, and blueberry compote are ethereal and lead to a voluptuous, densely layered, succulent, complex Shiraz with 10-15 years of aging potential, This extraordinary effort should drink well through 2040.
