Viader Dare Cabernet Franc Napa 2005 - $39.99

PORTHOS INSIDERS SCOOP:
A sexy new release oozing with rich dark fruit flavors and a bold, long finish reminiscent of freshly baked walnut brownies (seriously!). A favorite every year of cult Cabernet collectors, Viader’s Estate Red ($99/bottle) has been firmly established as one of Napa’s most sought after wines- if you can get it. Now Delia Viader has made a new wine she calls “DARE” by Viader for $60 less, but with all the elegance, power, and sultriness of her iconic proprietary red. This bottling is a rare 100% Cabernet Franc, meaning you’ll get all the bells and whistles of Napa Cabernet, but at pre-cult era prices. Don’t miss this opportunity to drink Viader at 1/3 the price and get FREE SHIPPING on six or more.

TASTING NOTES:
The color is a beautiful cherry red and the nose tempts you with aromas of red berries, plums, oak and sweet spices. After a few minutes of opening, darker fruits, smoke and peppery notes develop in the glass. On the palate the wine shows enticing flavors of ripe black cherries and strawberries supported by velvety tannins. Fully integrated oak flavors and a well-defined mid-palate. Hints of tobacco, vanilla and caramel carry the finish, making this wine ready to be enjoyed young or cellared for 1 to 4 years time from vintage date.
