ALERT: Original Screaming Eagle Winemaker's Inaugural Release - This Will Sell Out!
La Sirena "Art Bus" Napa Cabernet
is the thrilling new project by prolific winemaker Heidi Barrett, best known as the founding winemaker for Screaming Eagle and dubbed the "first lady of wine" by wine critic Robert Parker. More recently, her Revana Cabernet, ranked #1 Napa Cabernet in the Wine Spectator's annual Top 100 listing last year. Her own La Sirena wines, however, are smaller production and her best-kept-secret. Don't be fooled by the whimsical label, as the juice is seriously tasty! The fruit comes from Barrett's own estate property in Napa but represents the "more approachable" barrel selections. This Art Bus bottling is the proverbial "best of both worlds" as it's succulent and impressive now (after decanting 30 minutes) but has the "stuffing" to age well for at least 10-15 years. In fact, this Art Bus reminds us of our personal favorite Heidi Barrett wine upon release, Revana 2007.

“Classic 97” Points
“From the minute you pull the cork, the aromas are deep, rich, and enticing. Black cherry fruit with notes of cinnamon, caramel, graham cracker, and vanilla. Explosive flavors match the aromas in a big, yet soft and silky blend. Flavors persist, tannins very mild, structure is solid and built to last. Made from her estate vineyards in Calistoga (except a tidbit of CF from Oakville). This is "one of the good ones" from the tiny crop produced in 2008 after the spring frost. While tasty now, this is a wine that is also cellar-worthy, easily 10-15 years.”
