Porthos is the only wine club in California that personalizes each member’s monthly selections to ensure that you receive wines that you will love. Many of our competitors only feature wines that they love (without asking you), the so called critics love, and/or wines that they can purchase at special close out pricing. The Porthos Wine Clubs are only successful if our members re-order wines so our #1 incentive is to send you wines to sample that you’ll love (and purchase more!).
Winery clubs are fun for a while but inevitably even the finest wineries have a less than spectacular vintage due to weather or changes in wine making. During those vintages, you’ll often receive substandard wines that the winery is not able to sell at their tasting room or via their mailing lists. At Porthos, we get to “cherry pick” the best of the best each vintage since we’re ‘free agents’ and are not contractually obligated to sell any particular wines, ever.
We want your 100% satisfaction. Therefore, if we ever send you a bottle that you don’t enjoy, Porthos will send you a complimentary replacement wine; no questions asked!
Yes, each member's monthly selection is hand picked by the PORTHOS "wine concierge" team based upon the feedback you give us when you join! This is NOT a "one size fits all" program because we're dedicated to sending only wines we know you'll enjoy. The more feedback (positive and negative – if any) you provide the more we’ll hand tailor your selections.
After you sign up, our Wine Club Concierge will contact you (or your Gift recipient) to learn what types of wine you are most interested in sampling as well any types of wine you don’t particularly enjoy. Or, feel free to contact us directly and let us know about your wine tastes.
