ALERT: Screaming Eagle’s current winemaker, Andy Erikson, and viticulturist Annie Favia have just released their personal Cabernet blend that is by far our #1 undiscovered, pre-cult bargain: The “Classic 96” rated Leviathan Cabernet Blend 2007 ($49) reminds us of the inaugural Screaming Eagle that cost $75 but now trades for over $1500/bottle. Micro-production was less than 400 cases so RSVP now to get in on the ground floor of the most coveted release of the new year and guarantee first-on-your-block status! NOTE: DUE TO THE UNIQUE NATURE (ie, PEDIGREE) AND INCREDIBLE PRICING, THIS WINE WILL SELL OUT.
“Classic 96” Rating: “Expressive aromas of coffee bean, smoke, dusty rose, gravel and fresh baked black cherry pie jump from the glass. On the palate, an entry of soft tannin quickly crescendos to intense flavors of dark chocolate, raspberries, fleur de sel caramel, plum and cherries. It finishes long with dark fruit character, mouthwatering acidity and brown sugar sweetness. This delicious blend of Cabernets, Merlot and a dash of Syrah (for added complexity) drinks well now after decanting one half hour and should age gracefully for the next 5 – 7 years. 96+ POINTS The Wine Insiders
“IF YOU LIKE...” Since this is the introductory vintage of Leviathan we thought it might help to give you additional perspective on this special offer: This is a big, bold wine with strong fruit and a plush tannic structure. Leviathan 2007 is a guaranteed winner for fans of the following Porthos best sellers: Textbook, Larkmead, Ramey, Vin Perdu, Dominus, and Pahlmeyer!
