Dear Syrah lover,
Don’t miss the OUTRAGEOUSLY tasty new Zacherle Knights Valley Syrah 2005. This micro-production Syrah (only 235 cases!), scoring 91 points by the Wine Insiders, will thrill anyone looking for bold, rich, age-worthy Syrah that will pair perfectly with a wide array of grilled menu items this Summer.
Note: Decant for at least 2 hours to maximize this wine’s voluptuous potential. We guarantee your patience will be rewarded with an impressive adventure for your palate!
TASTING NOTES: A dense and dark ruby color that is filled with aromas of dark cherry and blackberry pie along with fruited black tea aromas. Notes of earth and bark follow hints of geranium and light toasted walnuts. The palate is soft and inviting, round and rich with sweet tannins and graceful length.

Also, we’re now at last call for one of our favorite Syrah’s of all time, the Spencer Roloson La Herradura Syrah 2004 ($47) which scored 93 Points in the Wine Spectator. Notes below:
Spencer Roloson La Herradura Syrah 2004 ($47)
Wine Spectator Review: 93 Points
Tremendous complexity; intense, pure, rich and plush, with dense huckleberry, blackberry, pomegranate, pepper and sage balanced out with luscious components of cocoa, sweet tobacco and a smoky bacon component that true Syrah lovers adore. Yes, we realize all this sounds a bit odd if you’re not already in love with Syrah but trust us that if you’re looking for a uniquely decadent, delicious, and age-worthy wine this is a guaranteed thriller. Deeply concentrated and firmly tannic, it packs a wallop with its flavor and intensity, but also flexes its sizeable muscles. Best from 2006 through 2010. |
