“Based on 58% Syrah, 22% Mourvèdre, 17% Grenache, and 3% Viognier that was 45% destemmed and aged 31 months in 60% new barrels, the 2022 EABA is shifting slightly more toward a Rhone blend as opposed to a Syrah-dominated one. Deep purple-hued, it offers bloody black and blue fruits, ground pepper, roasted meat, and chocolate. This carries to a full-bodied, deep, unctuous, voluptuous beauty that has ripe tannins, some chalky minerality, and a blockbuster finish. I love it today, yet it will cruise for 15 years.
