Domaine de Bellene was founded in 2005 by Nicolas Potel, whose goal was to follow in the footsteps of his beloved father, Gérard Potel, the influential Burgundian legend that inspired icons like Roumier, Lafon and Jean-Marc Boillot. He was born into the family that owned Domaine Pousse d’Or in Volnay and was already benefiting from his strong local connections before his Domaine was established. The focus is on the outstanding (and often underrated) premier cru climats of Beaune, and on distinctive terroirs in promising appellations that offer exceptional value from a region that has seen a stratospheric rise in prices over the last 20 years.
