“The new 2021 Ovid Cabernet blend “Experiment” is the most velvety rich & smooth blend release we’ve ever sampled (after judging all 20 vintages!). The bold, dark fruit is deftly balanced with plush tannins that provide sublime enjoyment now and bode well for pleasure for at least another decade. This Cabernet blend contains a dollop of Merlot which adds rich mocha and baker's chocolate flavors, as well as spicy Cabernet Franc for an exotic thrill on the zesty finish. The core palate displays traditional notes of blackberry, cola, dark cherry, plum, pipe tobacco, cocoa and caramel. We recommend decanting prior to 2025 and predict this age-worthy gem will continue to thrill through 2030. Well done (again).” - California Wine Advisors (5/2024)
