Opus One 2010
100 Points | CWA
“After more than a decade of deep library time, the 2010 Opus One vintage is deeply concentrated, and a full-bodied beauty. Aromas of blackberry, rose petals, chocolate, and espresso unfold gracefully, while on the palate cassis, darker fruits and leafy tobacco interplay. It’s generous and seamless, showcasing a ripe, luxurious richness that has evolved gracefully. Despite its power and concentration, the wine maintains exceptional finesse and freshness to enjoy now (decanting not required) or anytime through 2030 for true connoisseurs.” - California Wine Advisors
Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select 2021
100 Points | TWI
“The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select was tasted as a barrel sample. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out with powerful notes of creme de cassis, plum preserves, and juicy blueberries giving way to an undercurrent of tar, candied violets, and star anise. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and impactful, delivering a firm, grainy texture and well-knit freshness to support the generous black and blue fruits, finishing long with loads of mineral and exotic spices sparks. This is impressive!” - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent
Dominus Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2015
100 Points | RP
“Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc, the Dominus 2015 Proprietary Red Wine leaps from the glass with notes of fresh wild blueberries, crushed blackberries and black currant juice with touches of wild thyme, underbrush, iron ore and aniseed with wafts of lavender and pencil lead. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has incredible energy and vivacity, with the firm, pixelated tannins and lively backbone skillfully framing the muscular fruit, finishing with wonderful length and depth.” - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
100 Points | RP (Barrel Notes)
“The 2015 Dominus is a blockbuster. A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot (note that no Merlot is used at Dominus Estate, an irony, considering Moueix is the king of Merlot in Pomerol and to a lesser extent St.-Emilion). This wine has incredibly rich, ripe and pure fruit, often suggestive of blueberries, black raspberries and cassis, intermixed with licorice and forest floor notes. A wine of great body, purity and richness, but the balance of a ballerina, this gorgeously lush, voluptuously textured Dominus should drink effortlessly when released and evolve 30 more years, as his older vintages are proving so well.” - Robert Parker, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
100 Points | JD
“The 2015 Dominus is a flawless, perfect wine as well as a legend in the making. A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and the rest Cabernet Franc, from dry-farmed vines and brought up in just 40% new French oak, its ruby/purple color is followed by an extraordinary bouquet of blackcurrants, crème de cassis, damp earth, smoke tobacco, and spring flowers. Reminding me of the 2015 Chateau Margaux with its incredible mix of elegance and power, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, stunning purity of fruit, building tannins, and awesome length. This sensational textured and voluptuous Dominus drink well today yet will evolve for 25-30 years or more.” - Jeb Dunnuck
100 Points | TWI
“A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 9% Petit Verdot, the 2015 Dominus has a deep garnet-purple color. It needs a little coaxing to unlock scents of redcurrant jelly, warm cassis, wild blueberries, and forest floor, followed by hints of graphite, red roses, and allspice. The full-bodied palate is full-on seductive, featuring firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness to compose the opulent, perfumed black and red fruit layers, finishing with incredible length.” - Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, The Wine Independent
