“Another tour de force from Burgundy’s exalted 2023 vintage, this exquisite wine unfurls in the glass with a beguiling bouquet of citrus blossoms, baked apples and crushed flint, interwoven with a delicate caress of vanilla. The palate is pristine, revealing Bonneau du Martray’s trademark hazelnut character alongside subtle layers of ripe Bosc pear and intriguing hints of lightly toasted oak. The finish is long, graceful and impeccably balanced, leaving the palate refreshed and longing for another taste. It would not surprise me if, after another decade in the cellar, this extraordinary Burgundy were flirting with perfection. I suggest enthusiasts decant this tightly wound Grand Cru for 30 minutes when enjoyed before 2030; it should continue delivering profound pleasure for 10–15 years.” - Porthos Owner Hal Oates (9/9/26)
