“This is the best vintage yet of this already iconic bottling from the Kistler family. Blended from their array of celebrated vineyards on the far Sonoma coast, the 2024 Freestone-Occidental offers a thrilling, energetic bouquet of bright cherry and ripe red berries. Very racy on the palate, with generous and bold fruit, blood orange zest, with background tea and forest floor notes. This vintage has more finesse than its predecessors, to my palate, which is primarily due to seemingly softer edges than previous vintages giving a more balanced, satisfying wine. Absolutely mouth-watering on its own, with enough going on to inspire several minutes of thought after each sip. However, it’s hard to put the glass down for too long, it’s so spectacularly fun to drink.” - California Wine Advisors
